SLJBC Hosts Members Evening with Japanese Ambassador

The Sri Lanka–Japan Business Council (SLJBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hosted a special Members Evening on 08th April 2025 at Hilton Colombo Residencies, featuring His Excellency Akio Isomata, the Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka. His Excellency delivered an insightful speech on the theme “Opportunities That Come with Economic Revival,” emphasizing the strong partnership between Japan and Sri Lanka and the emerging prospects for bilateral cooperation.

The event also featured a presentation by Mr. Sampath Nissanka, Commissioner General for Expo Osaka 2025, who shared key insights into Sri Lanka’s participation and potential opportunities at the upcoming global exhibition.

The evening was attended by SLJBC members, distinguished invitees, senior government officials, Ceylon Chamber representatives, and Sri Lanka’s Ambassador-designate to Japan, Professor Janaka Kumarasinghe.

Attendees had the valuable opportunity to network and engage with the wider business community, as well as with both ambassadors, fostering stronger connections and encouraging future collaboration.
