SLJBCは、
在スリランカ日本商工会議所との基本合意書に
基づき、1979年にセイロン商工会議所（日本ビジネス協議会）により設立されました。
その後、スリランカと日本の間で 19 回の合同会議が開催
されました。（最近では 2016 年 6 月にスリランカのコロンボで開催されています）
SLJBC は、セイロン商工会議所の最初の
二国間ビジネス協議会です。
